The IPG PG505 Utility Paper Masking Tape is a general-purpose masking tape widely used in the painting contractor industry for dependable adhesion and holding performance. Designed for interior masking applications, this utility grade paper tape combines a flexible crepe paper backing with a pressure-sensitive natural rubber/resin adhesive to provide an excellent balance of quick stick, panel adhesion, and holding properties. Ideal for everyday masking requirements, IPG PG505 offers reliable adhesive performance for general-purpose applications where secure attachment and consistent holding strength are important. Its crepe paper construction provides a practical backing for masking tasks, while the natural rubber/resin adhesive delivers immediate tack and dependable adhesion to surfaces during application. This tape is intended for indoor use and is not recommended for outdoor exposure. Featuring a total thickness of 5.8 mils, PG505 provides a tensile strength of 23 lb/in of width and adhesion to steel of 33 oz/in of width. Its quick stick values include 5 oz/in to Kraft paper and 11 oz/in to steel, providing a combination of initial tack and holding performance. With 10% elongation at break, the tape offers additional flexibility during general masking applications. IPG PG505 operates within a temperature range of 50°F to 200°F and meets ASTM D6123 Type I and C.I.D. A-A-883B Type I requirements.
