The IPG PG5 Medium Grade Paper Masking Tape is a versatile, general-purpose masking tape designed to provide an excellent balance of quick stick, panel adhesion, and holding strength. Constructed with a smooth, fine crepe paper backing and pressure-sensitive natural rubber/resin adhesive, PG5 delivers secure adhesion, excellent cornering, and clean removal for a wide range of painting and industrial applications. Recommended for most interior paint masking applications, this medium grade masking tape is suitable for automotive spray painting and boat manufacturing (fiberglass). Its flexible crepe paper construction allows it to conform around corners and edges, making it useful for detailed masking tasks where dependable adhesion and clean removal are essential. IPG PG5 is also suitable for a variety of industrial and general-purpose applications, including silk screening, mailroom operations, man-made marble manufacturing, golf club shaft build-up, carpet pad splicing, and freezer tape applications. Additional uses include bundling, packaging, splicing, and tabbing, providing versatility across manufacturing, maintenance, and everyday masking operations. Featuring a total thickness of 6.3 mils, tensile strength of 25 lb/in, and adhesion to steel of 30 oz/in, PG5 offers reliable performance and holding properties. Its operating temperature range of 50°F to 200°F accommodates various application conditions. The tape also supports masking paper aprons at temperatures up to 160°F for 30 minutes.
