In pin mode, the MMS3 provides accurate moisture content readings for materials such as wood, drywall, and masonry, helping diagnose the extent of moisture intrusion and monitor drying progress. The non-invasive search mode uses radio frequency technology to detect moisture up to 5 inches below the surface without causing damage, making it ideal for scanning behind finishes and flooring. This mode is not adversely affected by surface moisture, improving reliability in real-world conditions.

The hygrometry function measures relative humidity, temperature, dew point, and other psychrometric data, enabling users to evaluate air quality and conditions that may lead to mold growth. Additionally, the built-in infrared (IR) thermometer with laser pointer allows for quick surface temperature readings and condensation risk assessment.

The BLD9800-C Standard Kit includes the MMS3 instrument, QuikStick ST probe, heavy-duty moisture probe, and a protective hard carry case—providing the essential tools needed for a wide range of testing scenarios.
