Foster 32-60 Asbestos Removal Encapsulant is a high-performance, water-based polymer coating engineered to support both asbestos removal and post-removal encapsulation. This versatile formula penetrates and “wets-out” asbestos-containing materials (ACM), including challenging fiber types such as amosite and crocidolite, ensuring thorough saturation prior to disturbance.

During application, the encapsulant absorbs into individual asbestos fibers, binding them together to reduce the likelihood of airborne release. When applied as a fine mist, it can also attach to and weigh down airborne fibers, helping improve air quality within the containment area. Once dried, these fibers adhere to surfaces, reducing reintroduction and minimizing cleanup time and labor costs.

The product can be diluted up to a 4:1 water-to-encapsulant ratio for removal applications, allowing for enhanced penetration and efficient material usage. For post-removal residual encapsulation (lockdown), it must be applied at full strength to form a durable barrier that secures remaining fibers. Coverage will vary depending on substrate porosity and thickness, but it is designed to fully saturate ACM to the substrate.

Foster 32-60/32-61 can be applied using standard airless spray equipment and is suitable for a wide range of abatement environments. Available in 32-60 (blue) for visual coverage confirmation and 32-61 (clear) for applications where appearance is critical, it offers both functionality and flexibility for professional use.
